ArticlesToxic heavy metals in soil and contaminated land Publication: AWE International
Date / Issue: September 8, 2006
X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) is used extensively for geochemical analysis. In this article experimental data is presented that demonstrates the performance of an energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer, MiniPal 4, for analyzing heavy metals contaminants in soils. Also, the use of the system in the field is outlined. The article is written by Dr. Lieven Kempenaers, Product manager XRF, PANalytical and Leian Grimsley, Analytical Geochemist, British Geological Survey.
