Visiting PANalytical in Almelo

In Almelo, The Netherlands, you'll find not only PANalytical's assembly and testing facility, but also its XRF and XRD marketing and development departments, one of the four application labs, its corporate customer support center, logistics, and, last but not least, its headquarters.

Tour

A standard part of any course is a tour through the assembly and testing plant and our application laboratory. This shows that having all these functions together on one site leads to optimal system integration of software and hardware and a Life Cycle approach to design, – from ease-of-use, safety and environmental aspects to manufacturability, serviceability and durability.

Ecological principles

The ecological design principles by which we operate cover the operational lifetime of every product and end-of-life removal or disposal. Elements taken into account are the recycle-ability of materials, energy consumption and weight of a system, environmental-friendly production, packaging and shipping.

On top of that the radiation safety profile and approach result in compliance with the world's most stringent legal requirements on X-ray containment.

Service engineers

What's more, field service engineers are trained here in real-life installation and servicing of systems. The feedback of their experiences also supports the further development of our systems, applications and service, including the development of technical and service documentation.

Also located in Almelo is PANalytical's Automation Business Unit, which supplies a consulting and main contracting service for integrated laboratory automation projects.

Many of the more vital components in the X-ray optical path are being manufactured in Almelo itself.
However X-ray tubes and several other key components such as collimators, detectors etc. are developed and produced in a second PANalytical factory located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
