Milk powder mineral content using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry

30 January 2015  Milk powder quality and nutritional value depends significantly on its mineral and salt content. Elemental analytical techniques such as X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) are valuable in determining the composition of a wide range of organic and inorganic materials which can be analyzed as solids, liquids, loose and pressed powders. In this webinar we present energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) as a rapid, non-destructive tool to quantitatively analyze mineral and salt content including sodium and magnesium in milk powder prepared as pressed powders.

Industrial X-ray diffraction application course on CubiX³ or X’Pert³ powder (X’Pert PRO MPD) diffractometers

25 November 2016  The course is intended for the users from various industries, where XRD is applied for the production control. Basics of X-ray diffraction technique and practical aspects of work on CubiX³ or X’Pert³ Powder (X’Pert PRO MPD) diffractometers equipped with X’Pert Industry software will be covered during this course. The main accent will be made on the optimization of the data collection and quantitative analysis using X’Pert Industry software to solve specific industrial problems in the most effective way.

Pharmaceutical elemental impurity analysis (USP<232> and ICHQ3D) following USP<735> X-ray fluorescence spectrometry

17 April 2015  Changes to the regulatory requirements for elemental impurity testing with the introduction of USP chapters <232>,<233> and the ICHQ3D guidelines is leading to an industry wide change in the approach to this analysis. In this webinar we introduce the new USP chapters and the ICH guidelines and discuss risk analysis and the need for testing. We will also introduce the new USP chapter <735> X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) and discuss the development and preliminary results for pharmaceutical calibration standards for elemental impurity testing. Finally, we will take a first look at XRF method validation using a model API.

Pharmaceutical Powder X-ray Diffraction Symposium

23 May 2016  Creating a forum for the exchange of knowledge and cutting-edge ideas among those interested in the combined fields of XRD and pharmaceutical sciences. Sponsored by the International Centre for Diffraction Data. Dr. Detlef Beckers - Lead Scientist at PANalytical Almelo, the Netherlands, is chairing "New Frontiers in XRD for Pharmaceutical R&D" segment. His speaking engagements include the titles "Humidity induced phase transitions in Hewlysozymicrocrystalline powder diffraction" & "X-ray scattering on nano crystalline and amorphous materials". Anasuya Adibhatla - XRD Applications Specialist at PANalytical the Americas, will present "Quantification of multiple amorphous phases".
