Many X-ray diffraction (XRD) and fluorescence (XRF) applications are ideally suited for polymer research and development. Small-angle X-ray scattering and high-temperature measurements are just examples of the versatility.

Fast and reliable polymer X-ray analysis

In production, process and quality control, polymer research and development fast and reliable analysis is crucial.
Combining high-power X-ray excitation with excellent reproducibility, Zetium> spectrometers have become the systems of choice for fast and reliable XRF analysis. This is further enhanced by the well-known polymer Certified Reference Materials ADPOL, TOXEL, ROHS Calibration Standards and PVC Calibration Standards.

For less demanding applications and sample throughput the Epsilon 3X benchtop XRF spectrometers are the systems of choice. The excellent performance of the benchtop EDXRF systems, especially the light elements sensitivity, is demonstrated by its capability to analyze fluorine. Furthermore, these benchtop spectrometers are perfect backups when main-line systems are in service/maintenance.

The Empyrean X-ray diffraction platform is ideally suited for polymer research and development. On this most versatile diffractometer many different applications can be performed by just adding pre-aligned (PreFIX) modules. SAXS (small-angle X-ray scattering) analysis by using the ScatterX78 attachment is a good example demonstrating the power of PreFIX modules. Additional to a wealth of X-ray diffraction applications, the Empyrean can also perform X-ray tomography to provide 2D and 3D images of polymeric and composite materials.
