Sample preparation for X-ray spectrometry

This 2 day training course gives insight in sample preparation techniques and requirements. Explanation of recipes and sample preparation errors form the basis of the course. One and a half day is spent on practical work using some machines for grinding, pressing and fusion as well as the material necessary for loose powder and liquid sample preparations.

  • Errors during sample preparation and how to improve your result
  • Introduction in Good Laboratory Practice
  • Practical grinding and pressing preparation technique
  • Practical loose powder preparation technique
  • Practical fusion preparation technique
  • Practical liquid analysis preparation technique
  • Basic sample handling

Requirements: Some experience of working in a laboratory environment is highly recommended.
Although PANalytical can provide them, the use of own PPE is strongly advised.
