Analysis of stainless steel with Axios FAST

This study demonstrates the accuracy and precision that the Axios FAST can deliver for controlling the composition of stainless steel, as well as the speed of analysis so important for controlling the cost of production.

Stainless steel is defined as a ferrous alloy with a minimum chromium content of 10.5 (wt%). In reality stainless steel can include other alloying elements like Ni, Mn and Mo. The composition of stainless steels is carefully controlled to obtain specific corrosion-resistant characteristics and crystalline structure, which in turn affect their hardness and strength.
